The cause of the incident came from a recent Twitter statement by the doujinshi printing company, Ryoyosha. In the tweet, they pointed out: "The Tokyo International Exhibition Center will be closed for a period of time due to the Olympics. At present, regarding this issue, our company believes that it will have a significant impact on doujinshi culture and Japanese work culture, so we hope that the official can take corresponding measures."

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics plans to set up an international broadcast center and other institutions at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center. Therefore, after the successful bid for the Olympics, many people have been worried about whether the comic market will be affected. And now that the old-fashioned printing agency Green Yangsha has expressed concerns, it is even more eye-catching. According to current estimates, the comic market alone may not be held at the Tokyo International Exhibition Center for three consecutive sessions. This will have a major impact on surrounding industries. The president of Green Yangsha predicts that the sales of the doujinshi printing industry alone may decline by 25% to 30% within two years.

President Yu Takekawa said: "Even if the number of people active in the next two years does not increase, we estimate that the circulation of doujinshi will drop by 15% to 20%. According to my calculations, the national doujinshi printing industry has an annual turnover of 15 billion yen, which means 30 billion yen in two years. So there may be a loss of 6 to 9 billion yen. There may even be a wave of doujinshi printing factories closing down."

And if doujinshi exhibitions cannot be held at Tokyo Big Sight, then doujinshi activities and distribution methods will have to undergo a major change. President Yu Takekawa said: Doujinshi sales will most likely only be held in small venues. But at the same time, perhaps doujinshi bookstores will become popular. The Japan Exhibition Association, which has many doujinshi printing companies as members, including Ryoyosha, is also worried about the losses caused by the two-year suspension of the comic market. Teiji Sakurai, director of the association's affairs bureau, believes that "the so-called exhibition is that once it is suspended, it is difficult to return to the original scale. Japanese exhibitions need to attract tourists repeatedly to form a business model, which takes time to accumulate. Therefore, if the event cannot be held, tourists may be taken away by overseas competitors, making many Japanese industries lose their international competitiveness."
