The story is an original TV animation planned by Fuji TV's noitaminA, directed by Tetsuro Araki, composed by Ichiro Okochi, and produced by WIT STUDIO. On the 16th, the second season was announced.

"Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress" tells a story like this: The whole world is driven by the waves of the industrial revolution, but the undead monster "Kabane" suddenly appears. Kabane is covered with a steel membrane. As long as the heart is not destroyed, it will not be destroyed. Almost everyone bitten by it will become a Kabane. In order to fight against the threat of Kabane, the people of the Far Eastern island country built cities called "stations" in various places and trapped in them, trying every means to survive.
