CATDOLL: The 2017 Tokyo Anime Awards shortlist is released, but Your Name is not on the list

The Tokyo Anime Award is one of the three most iconic Japanese animation awards, and it selects awards in various categories every year. The preliminary voting for this year's Tokyo Anime Award has begun on November 21. The voting is to select 100 TV animations and theatrical animations from 550 animations that were released or broadcast between October 18, 2015 and October 15, 2016, including 10 TV theatrical animations to participate in the subsequent award selection. Now the results of the preliminary selection are out, and surprisingly, the animated film "Your Name.", which was popular all over the world in 2016, did not appear in the list.

In terms of TV animation, in addition to the top 5, popular series from October 2015 to October 2016, such as "Re:Zero -Starting Life in Another World", "Gintama", "Assassination Classroom", "Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress", and "One Punch Man" are basically selected, with a total of 90 TV animations selected. The 100 selected animation works will then participate in various competitions of the Tokyo Anime Awards. The Anime Fan Award will be decided by fans' voting again, and the Work Award and Individual Award will be selected by producers and creators active in the front line of the animation industry, so the Tokyo Anime Awards are very professional and participatory.
