The basketball-themed manga "Slam Dunk" by cartoonist Takehiko Inoue can be said to be a classic work of Japanese comics. Even though it has been completed for 20 years, it is still deeply loved by everyone. Whenever basketball comics are mentioned, many people will still think of this work first, and even many professional players are fans of this work. In fact, everyone knows that the manga "Slam Dunk" has not really ended, and they have been hoping that the manga can launch a sequel. Recently, the author Takehiko Inoue responded to this in an interview, "It is not impossible." The Slam Dunk manga has 31 volumes. The Shohoku basketball team narrowly defeated the former national champion Sannoh team in the second round of the national competition. However, due to the heavy consumption of this battle, Sakuragi Hanamichi was injured and could not play. As a result, Shohoku encountered Aiwa Academy in the third round and ended in a miserable defeat. After that, the Shohoku players each embarked on their own paths. In fact, the last page of the final episode (276 episodes) published in the magazine that year still marked the words "Part 1 is finished", but it is not in the single volume.
Recently, Asahi Shimbun released a conversation between Takehiko Inoue and basketball players. In the conversation between Takehiko Inoue and 24-year-old basketball player Tanaka Daiki, Tanaka Daiki said: "I like your "Slam Dunk" very much. I really want to let you know that I really want to see the sequel of this work." In response, Takehiko Inoue said: "I think it is an honor for me as a cartoonist to hear you say this. To be honest, I have not decided not to draw, but I have not decided to draw either. I can only say that I will draw whenever I want to. This is my truest feeling." It seems that everything is possible, so let's look forward to it.
