Patlabor has confirmed the production of a new animation, Patlabor REBOOT, which will be screened for a week at Shinjuku Balt9 starting on October 15, 2016. The video and voice actors have been released. The production team behind the new Patlabor animation has been revealed. The director is Yasuhiro Yoshiura, who produced Eva's Time. The script is jointly written by Yoshiura and Ito Kazunori, the scriptwriter of the TV series and movie version of Patlabor. The animation character design and animation director is Naoyuki Asano, who was the animation director of Osomatsu. The music is by Kenji Kawai, the mechanical design is supervised by Hiroyuki Idebuchi, the animation production is in charge of STUDIO COLOR, Hideaki Anno joins as a planner and executive producer, and the voice actors are Koichi Yamadera and Megumi Hayashibara. Patlabor began as a project that was carried out in various forms simultaneously, including the 1988 OVA and the manga created by Masami Yuzuru. It also produced TV animation, movie animation, novels, and other works, each of which was well received. It was a work that represented the 1980s and the 1990s.
