CATDOLL: Yuyue Pictures released ten film and television projects, and two comic IPs were derived from micro comics

On September 26, 2016, Weiying Times held a brand strategy conference themed "Yue" in Beijing. At the conference, Weiying Times launched a new brand "Yuyue", and its subsidiaries "Yuyue Pictures" and "Yuyue Distribution" were unveiled at the same time, and announced the first batch of 10 film and television projects, including two classic IP works of Xiong Dun under Weimanhua, "Weight Loss Man" and "Mature Woman's Diary".

The 10 major film and television projects released by Yuyue Films for the first time include hilarious comedies and historical dramas jointly created with other outstanding teams in the industry, as well as pan-entertainment IPs developed by Yuyue Films itself, and there is no lack of reinterpretations of classic works. For example, the classic IP "The Longest Day in Chang'an" by the famous writer Ma Boyong, Xiong Dun's "Mature Woman's Diary" jointly developed with Penguin Pictures, Xinyiwu series IPs, Dunhuang series of magical films and other major IPs, as well as "Blackout", "Fat Loser", "Snow Child", "Young Beast Master", "Young Man in Brocade Clothes", "Strange Detective Sima Luo" series of films, covering popular themes such as comedy, drama, animation, suspense, and history that are popular with the audience, and will cover multiple products such as theater movies, TV series, online dramas, animation works, derivative stage plays, special exhibitions, etc. Among these 10 film and television projects, the two unique comic adaptation IPs are both from the classic comic works of Xiong Dun, a cartoonist signed by Weimanhua.

"The Weight Loss Man": an urban light comedy film adapted from the Xiong Dun comics, co-produced by Perfect Star, authorized by WeManhua, and directed by Su Lun, who was the executive director of "Lost in Hong Kong". The director hopes to refine the precious spirit given to the protagonist by the original author of the comics and give the story enough charm, so that the audience can gain inner satisfaction while watching the film as the characters grow.

Another comic-adapted movie, "Mature Woman's Diary", also originated from a micro-comic. This film will be jointly produced by Yuyue Films and Penguin Films. The film tells the hilarious story of a little girl's courtship, and her love experience from a girl to a mature woman. Li Anning, vice president of Yuyue Films, said that he hopes to bring the "mature woman" spirit and "mature woman" attitude in the play into life, spread the happy energy we want to bring to everyone, and also hope that this drama can form a new style and create a new online hot spot.

As a leading comic copyright distributor and operator in China, Weimanhua has long been committed to the production and operation of high-quality comic IPs. In the past two years, Weimanhua has taken the comic-adapted movie "Go Away Tumor" as a starting point, and through cooperation, investment and resource integration, it has continuously improved its own industrial chain, and has initially formed a pan-entertainment symbiotic system integrating content production and distribution, film and television production, game development, and publicity. The two comic IPs "Fat Loss Man" and "Mature Woman's Diary" that were cooperated with Yuyue Pictures this time are important moves for Weimanhua to unite downstream industries and devote itself to the all-round commercial development of Chinese animation IPs. I believe that these two movies will become a new force to enrich the Chinese comic-adapted movie market.
