Today, it was officially announced that Michiyo Yasuda, the color designer of Studio Ghibli, passed away due to illness at the age of 77. Michiyo Yasuda can be said to be the exclusive color designer of Hayao Miyazaki. She was a colleague of Hayao Miyazaki and Isao Takahata during the Toei Animation era. From "Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind" in 1983 to Miyazaki's retirement work "The Wind Rises" in 2013, she was in charge of the color design of Ghibli's long-form animations for 30 years. |
