CATDOLL: Introduction to the new series "Gundam G: Restoration Movement" in October 2014

On March 20, 2014, at the "Mobile Suit Gundam 35th Anniversary Project" press conference held in Odaiba, Tokyo, Japan, it was officially announced that the animation "Gundam G: Restoration" will be released in the fall of 2014. At the press conference, director Tomino Yoshiyuki explained that the "G" refers to both Gundam and the earth (=GROUND). The title of this work is slightly different from the style of previous works in the series. The "G" in the title expresses the meaning of "spectacular and sublime". On the official website, "G" is also linked to "Genki" (pronounced "GENKI" in Japanese), and "GUNDAM" also starts with this letter, so it can be associated with many meanings. The "レコンギスタ" in the title means "Reconquista" in Spanish, which is known in history as the "Reconquista". This was a movement that took place from the 8th to the 15th century by European Christians to recover the Iberian Peninsula (Spain) against Muslims. It is known in history as the Reconquista, the National Restoration Movement, and the "Recovery of the Land Movement", and in Japan it is called the "National Restoration Movement".

Unlike the Universal Century stage used in the Mobile Suit Gundam series, this work is set in the Rigid Century (Japanese: リギルド・センチュリー), which is the next century after the Universal Century. The character design for this work is by Kenichi Yoshida, who has worked on works such as "Return of the Warriors" and "Symphonic Psalms" and is responsible for the original drawings of "Mobile Suit Gundam UC".

【Story Introduction】

After the end of the Universal Century, time flies by and people usher in a new history, the Regild Century (RC), and begin a prosperous and peaceful life. In RC1014, the Capital Tower, an orbital ladder connecting the earth and the universe, brings Photon Battery, the source of energy for the earth, to humans from the universe, so it is regarded as a holy place. The Capital Guard candidate, Beluri Zenam, was attacked by an unknown MS G-Serf during his first flight.
