CATDOLL: "Initial D New Theatrical Version Legend 1 Awakening" will be released in December BD

The Blu-ray disc of the animated film "Initial D: New Theatrical Edition Legend 1: Awakening" which was released in Japan on August 23 will be released on December 26, which means that we can enjoy this work before New Year's Day. This time, two versions will be released at the same time. The price of the regular version is 4980 yen (about 285 yuan) excluding tax, and the price of the first limited edition is 6800 yen (about 389 yuan) excluding tax.

The first limited edition includes a video of the night show of the voice actor event "Special Event ~ Awakening ~" held on October 4. Mamoru Miyano, who played Fujiwara Takumi, Yuichi Nakamura, who played Keisuke Takahashi, Minoru Shiraishi, who played Takeuchi Itsuki, Chiyuki Shimura, who played Tachibana Yuichi, and Anri Katsuri, who played Kenji, all participated in the event. The event was very rich, including talk sessions, guessing puzzles, playing games, and live recordings. In addition, the first limited edition also uses a three-sided back box, which contains two reduced versions of the script, a replica of Fujiwara Takumi's driver's license, and a booklet.

Initial D tells the story of the protagonist Takumi Fujiwara, who drives his father's car, who runs a tofu shop, to race against famous racers from all over Kanto. The original manga by Shuichi Shigeno was serialized in Weekly YOUNG MAGAZINE from 1995 to 2013. All 48 volumes of the single volume have been completed, with a total circulation of 48.6 million copies. From 1998 to 2012, four seasons of TV animation, one theatrical version and several OVAs were produced, all of which were very popular. The new theatrical version tells the story of the exciting highway racing competition between the Takahashi brothers, who are known as the fastest, and Takumi. The elder brother drives the FC3S RX-7 and the younger brother drives the FD3S RX-7. It is scheduled to produce three parts, and Awakening is the first one. The director of this work is Masamitsu Hidaka, the script is by Masaya Guma, and the music is by Yasuki Tsuchihashi.
