CATDOLL: Ghibli Animation "The Tale of Princess Kaguya" Nominated for Best Animated Feature Film Oscar

On the evening of January 15th, Beijing time (early morning of January 15th, local time in the United States), the 87th Academy Awards announced the list of nominees. Isao Takahata's long-form animation work "The Tale of Princess Kaguya" was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film after nearly 14 years. Last year, Hayao Miyazaki's "The Wind Rises" was nominated, but it did not win in the end.

"The Tale of Princess Kaguya" took eight years to produce. It is based on the Japanese legendary story "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter" and tells the story of Princess Kaguya coming to Earth and eventually leaving.

Other films nominated for this award include Big Hero 6, How to Train Your Dragon 2, The Boxtrolls, and Song of the Sea. Prior to this, only Spirited Away, directed by Hayao Miyazaki, also from Studio Ghibli, had won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film. Let us sincerely wish The Tale of Princess Kaguya good results.
