CATDOLL: The era of copyright! Ebook will work with Story Club to publish an electronic Chinese version of Japanese comics

On January 26, according to the Nikkei, a large Japanese e-book retailer, Ebook Initiative Japan, announced that in order to curb the rampant pirated Japanese comics in China, Ebook will launch an e-book service mainly based on comics in China in mid-2015.

According to reports, Ebook plans to distribute e-books as early as April through a joint venture established in Shanghai. In addition to Ebook, the investors of the new joint venture also include Find Japan, a social network marketing company in China, and Story Club, a subsidiary of China Publishing Group.

Although it has not been decided which comics and books will be released in China in the first batch, as long as they do not involve political content, Ebook will cooperate with Story Club to provide readers with official Chinese versions of excellent Japanese comics.

Ebook said that the great popularity of Japanese anime in China has given China's e-book market a very good development prospect, but China's e-comic market is rampant with piracy on the Internet. This move can perfectly curb this illegal behavior, allowing readers to support genuine products while enjoying more exquisite comics.

It is reported that Japan's Sohe Group has launched the overseas distribution business of Japanese comics at the end of 2014. They have taken 10 classic works in the hearts of comic fans, such as "Cobra", as the first step in expanding overseas markets, and the famous animation group Kadokawa Group is also providing them with the English version of "Mobile Suit Gundam" electronic comics.
