CATDOLL:SUNRISE "splits" Bandai Namco Pictures to focus on children's animation

Perhaps many people are not aware of this - SUNRISE is actually an animation division of Bandai Namco Group. Recently, SUNRISE is also going to start business reorganization and will be divided into two departments, one of which will still focus on carrot films, and the new division "Bandai Namco Pictures" (hereinafter referred to as BNP) will focus on the production of animation for children, such as "Aikatsu! Idol Activity" and other animations.

According to reports, the business restructuring includes the following:

The new company (BNP) will focus on children's and family-oriented works such as "Aikatsu! Idol Activity";

The smaller size of the company will help speed up the development and implementation of the plan, and also strengthen the linkage with the toy industry;

The Mobile Suit Gundam series will continue to be jointly developed by SUNRISE and Bandai Namco Visual.

Bandai Namco Group plans to achieve sales of 600 billion yen and net profit of 60 billion yen in fiscal 2017.
