CATDOLL: Breaking the record! Mobile Suit Gundam: THE ORIGIN grossed over 70 million in its first week

The latest work of the popular anime series "Mobile Suit Gundam" - "Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN I Caspar with Blue Eyes" was officially released on February 28. Although only 13 theaters in Japan showed the work, it ranked first in the average box office revenue of theaters in its first week of release, and ranked seventh in the total box office revenue of the weekend!

Currently, the film is only screened in 13 cinemas across Japan, and the screening will only last for two weeks. According to official sources, a total of 56,000 people attended the film on February 28 and March 1 last weekend, with a box office revenue of approximately 73 million yen. The total box office revenue in the first week ranked seventh among the films released during the same period, and on average, each cinema earned approximately 5.6 million yen, equivalent to approximately RMB 290,000. This number is also quite rare in the history of Japanese box office, so it rightfully ranks first in the average box office revenue of cinemas !

"Mobile Suit Gundam THE ORIGIN I: Caspar with Blue Eyes" is adapted from the original manga of the same name by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, the character designer and animation producer of the "Mobile Suit Gundam" series. The original author himself served as the chief director, character designer, and storyboard artist. It tells the story of Char Azner (original name: Caspar Rem Deiken), known as the "Red Comet", and his sister Sera Mas (original name: Artesia Som Deiken) who experienced years of displacement. The original manga series has sold over 10 million copies in Japan, making it a truly popular work!

The entire movie series consists of four episodes. In addition to the original author Yoshikazu Yasuhiko himself, there are also Takashi Imanishi from "Mobile Suit Gundam 0083 STARDUST MEMORY" as the director, Hajime Kadoki from "Mobile Suit Gundam UC" as the mechanical designer, and Hiroyuki Nishimura from "Cardboard Fighter" as the chief animation supervisor.
