CATDOLL: The Japanese doujin market is saved if the "non-personal prosecution" law is not implemented

There has been new progress recently regarding the previous proposal by the United States and other countries that Japan should implement the principle of "no personal prosecution".

According to Japanese media reports, in the TPP negotiations, the original "Regarding copyright infringement of audiovisual products, even if you are not the copyright holder, you can file a lawsuit" was changed to "The 12 participating countries do not necessarily have to unify the standards. If there is an existing system that can effectively deal with copyright infringement, the existing system will be respected."

This amendment is clearly a big victory for District 11. Based on this content, Japan will retain the current system of "personal prosecution".

Non-personal prosecution - that is, as long as there is infringement, no matter what the attitude of the copyright holder is, it will be prosecuted. (Previously proposed by the United States and other countries. If Japan agrees, it will have a huge impact on the Japanese doujin market.)

Only the copyright holder can sue the infringer. (The current policy in Japan. Even if there is infringement by doujinshi, the copyright holder generally will not sue, so there is no problem.)
