"The Tale of Princess Kaguya" is adapted from the famous Japanese story "The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter". It tells the story of "A bamboo cutter discovered a god-like little princess while working hard. It focuses on depicting Kaguya's unknown inner feelings and the changes in her own destiny.

So far, the work has won the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Award (Animated Film Category), the Boston Film Critics Association Award (Animated Film Category), and the Toronto Film Critics Association Award (Animated Film Category).
