CATDOLL: The Nihonbashi Street Festival will be held as usual despite the discovery of a 1-ton unexploded bomb in Osaka

On March 16, a construction worker found an unexploded bomb while working at a construction site near Osaka Nankai Namba Station. The unexploded bomb was 60 cm in diameter and 180 cm long.

After reporting to the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force, the Self-Defense Force carried out security measures near the unexploded bomb. The local government is considering how to deal with the unexploded bomb and whether to expand the restricted access area.

In February 2013, a similar unexploded bomb was found in Kita Ward, Osaka. At that time, the local government decided to evacuate all residents within a 300-meter radius and block the area.

The newly discovered unexploded bomb is near Nihonbashi Street, known as the "Akihabara of Osaka". Some people were worried that if the local government decided to take a similar approach to 2013, all shops in Nihonbashi Street, including Animate and Gamers, would be temporarily closed.

The Nihonbashi Street Festival, the largest anime event in Osaka, was originally scheduled to be held this Saturday. One of the features of this event is the cosplay parade along Nihonbashi Street. Currently, the organizers have given news that the 11th Nihonbashi Street Festival in 2015 will not be affected and will be held as planned.
