CATDOLL: "China Animation Short Film Support Project" announces that the anti-Japanese war animation will hit the screen

At the main forum of the 11th China International Animation Industry Summit Forum held yesterday morning, Gao Changli, Director of the Publicity Department of the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television (hereinafter referred to as the "Administration"), said that in order to further promote the integration of animation works into the core socialist values, the Administration will focus on the following two projects: "China Dream Animation Quality Creation Support Project" and "Socialist Core Values ​​Animation Short Film Support Project". According to a reporter from the Cultural Industry Channel of China Economic Net, this is the first time that the "Socialist Core Values ​​Animation Short Film Support Project" has been publicly released.

When talking about the "China Dream Animation Quality Creation Support Project", Gao Changli said that many animation works such as "Qi Jiguang" are part of the "China Dream Animation Quality Creation Support Project" series supported by the General Administration last year, and "Qi Jiguang" won the Silver Award for Animation Series at the "Golden Monkey Award" of the 11th China International Animation Festival this year. Gao Changli said that the General Administration will continue to support many works this year, including three animations on the theme of the War of Resistance Against Japan, such as "Tunnel Warfare" and "Chicken Feather Letter". In order to commemorate the 70th anniversary of the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan, these three works will be launched in August this year. Gao Changli said: "(Animation works showing themes of the War of Resistance Against Japan and war themes) This is a major breakthrough in our animation creation themes." In addition, there are three animations showing excellent traditional cultural themes, such as "Mencius' Wisdom"; an animation on the theme of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (tentatively named "The Loveliest People"), which is currently in the process of script creation.

When talking about the "Socialist Core Values ​​Animation Short Film Support Project", Gao Changli said that the General Administration is now jointly organizing this project with China Internet Television, Communication University of China, Beijing Film Academy and other universities, striving to organize the creation of 100 animated short films on the theme of socialist core values ​​within one year (until June next year).

According to the reporter of the Cultural Industry Channel of China Economic Net, the General Administration and China Network Television jointly invested 2 million yuan in support funds for the project. At the same time, the project has also received strong support from the National College Animation Professional Education Steering Committee. The preliminary plan of the project is: by October this year, 100 plans will be selected from the plans submitted by university teachers and students through expert review; then various resources will be coordinated to guide the final implementation of the project. It is expected that the project will be reviewed in June 2016. Gao Changli said that if these 100 works can be successfully completed, each will receive a bonus of 10,000 yuan. In addition, 5 first, second and third prizes will be selected from these 100 works, and each will receive rewards ranging from 100,000 yuan, 60,000 yuan to 40,000 yuan respectively.
Gao Changli also mentioned that after the work is completed, it will be broadcast on various TV channels and recommended to some new media. If there are good works in the future, it will also connect with some animation companies to try to find the possibility of producing more series of short films.

Gao Changli finally expressed that he believed that this support plan would be conducive to creating a strong atmosphere for the whole society to practice the core values ​​of socialism, promote young people to establish a correct world view, values, and outlook on life, and guide the animation graduate works of colleges and universities to adhere to the correct creative direction. Gao Changli said: "In the past two years, the animation creation of our college students is a force that cannot be ignored. Many excellent animated short films have been produced and have won many important awards both domestically and internationally. But at the same time, we must also see that some works created by colleges and universities are relatively dark in tone and obscure in technique. Our plan is to guide everyone to develop the tone of creation in a more sunny, positive, and energetic direction, and at the same time use a more easy-to-understand and popular narrative method to present some good works to the audience and arouse everyone's thinking."
