CATDOLL: EVA's latest CG short film production video exposed, showing Japan's amazing technology

Japan Animation Exhibition - a weekly animated short film project launched by Hideaki Anno's studio Khara and Japanese IT company Dwango - released two new short films numbered 20A and 20B on Friday. These two short films are not new works. They are "ME! ME! ME!" announced as the third installment in the series, and "evangelion: Another Impact (Confidential)" announced as the 12th installment.

Work No. 20A, "ME!ME!ME! CHRONIC feat.daoko / Teddyloid", uses the original animation video materials from "ME!ME!ME!" to create a new MV, with cooler and more brainwashing images and music. Work No. 20B, "(Making of) evangelion:Another Impact", shows us the production process of "evangelion:Another Impact (Confidential)", where we can see a large number of exquisite CG models, original painting settings, and the application of motion capture technology, etc., with very high technical content. The director of this work is Shinji Aramaki, the director of the "Appleseed" series of movies. Director Araki has been specializing in CG technology for many years and is the leading director in this field. Although most Japanese animations are 2G hand-painted, this short film successfully shows us the international level of 3D film production technology in District 11, which is really amazing.

In addition, the information of the 21st short film titled "Idol Battlefield" was announced on Monday. The director is Yamashita Ikuto (mechanical design of "Neon Genesis Evangelion" and "Blue No. 6"), and the animation director is Furuhashi Kazuhiro ("Evangelion Kid" and "Mobile Suit Gundam UC"). Jin Sejun and Teraoka Iwa are the mechanical animation supervisor and character animation supervisor respectively. The story tells that on a planet similar to the earth, the power of civilization has led to a global war, and there is an unknown secret on the planet. This short film will be released on May 11.
