CATDOLL: A Chinese otaku tried to bring "harmonious" comics and related products into China but was seized by customs

At a time when the "two-dimensional" culture is popular, foreign animation and its peripheral products are being enthusiastically sought after by many otakus and housewives. However, tourists who purchase "two-dimensional" animation products abroad must consciously abide by the relevant laws and regulations of the country and must not bring printed materials involving obscene content into the country. Recently, Shenzhen Bay Customs seized a case in which a mainland tourist brought in a total of 30 pieces of obscene comics and obscene anime life-size pillowcases.

On the evening of June 18, a young male passenger carrying a school bag and a suitcase entered the country through the Shenzhen Bay Customs entry channel. During the routine X-ray inspection, the customs officers found many books in his suitcase. After unpacking and checking, it was found that the man was carrying 13 pornographic comic books and 17 pornographic girl cartoon life-size pillowcases. What is even more ridiculous is that the man’s customs clearance record shows that he was also intercepted by Shenzhen Bay Customs on January 29 this year for carrying 22 pornographic comic books. The man admitted that buying these things was a personal hobby. After being seized for the first time, he realized his wrong behavior, but because he could not resist the temptation, he wanted to buy some more to share with friends in the circle with a fluke mentality, but he did not expect to be seized by the customs again. After educating the man on laws, regulations and morals, the customs officers transferred him to the anti-smuggling department for further processing.

Customs reminds the majority of "two-dimensional" animation and game enthusiasts that Chinese law prohibits the import of printed materials containing obscene, violent and other content; Customs will deal with the act of bringing prohibited items into the country in accordance with the law, and will pursue criminal liability if it constitutes a crime.
