CATDOLL: The filming of "Attack on Titan" was completed. Author: The original intention was to make a movie

A press conference for the live-action movie version of "Attack on Titan" was held on July 2. On that day, five people attended the press conference, including Haruma Miura who plays Eren, Kiko Mizuhara who plays Mikasa, Kanata Hongo who plays Armin, Satomi Ishihara who plays Hanji, and director Shinji Higuchi.

Isayama Hajime, who has seen the movie version, revealed a surprising inside story. He said, "When I was 19 years old and started to conceive of the 'man-eating' giant, I hoped to have professionals come and make it into a finished product. At that time, I was unknown and of course there was no such opportunity. Although my drawing skills were poor, I still plucked up the courage to create the manga "Attack on Titan". After several years of serialization, I finally got the news that it would be a movie version, and I thought, this is a good opportunity to let professionals shoot it. The fun of filming lies in creating interesting works, rather than completely faithfully reproducing the original work, so I don't want the movie to copy the routine of the manga. So, I made a lot of suggestions to the production team, such as making Jean the protagonist, and the setting of 'humans living in high-rise buildings' that was not in the original work. Although it was not adopted in the end, I was very excited that the movie could show the horror, shocking feeling and cute side of the giant at the same time! The movie was very successful."

In addition, when asked about their feelings about participating in the film, Haruma Miura, Kiko Mizuhara and Satomi Ishihara all said in unison: "The moment we set foot on Gunkanjima, we felt the sense of oppression and the vicissitudes of history. Shooting in such a flavorful place, coupled with action scenes and sound effects, I believe it will definitely be a work with impact! We are all looking forward to the release date!" And Kanata Hongo revealed that he is a big fan of "Attack on Titan". He feels excited about being able to participate in the filming of the movie, but also feels uneasy and stressed. However, after the filming was completed, he was full of confidence in the work. "I hope everyone can go to the big screen in the cinema and experience the shocking power of the giant shot with special effects techniques." Kanata Hongo said.
