After the news of the establishment of the library was released, KURATE Gakuen pointed out that the media reports were false online; then in the report of the West Japan Shimbun on March 3, the library responded to the ownership of the copyright of the secondary creations of the authors of the exhibited works:

" A doujinshi library will be established in the old junior high school building. It will have 2,500 anime and manga titles. The library in the old school building will be converted into a doujinshi library. Buy doujinshi online or in bookstores and translate them into English."

And KURATE Academy also clarified that " the works they display are all original, not including 18+ and secondary creations. The works displayed will also be approved by the authors. It is not for profit, but to cultivate a new generation of creators and cartoonists."
