CATDOLL: "Gundam Iron-Blooded" staff complained that senior predecessors dared not speak out

Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans will air its final episode, Episode 25, on March 27. However, before the final episode aired, several staff members of the production team complained, including some senior industry veterans...

Although the official information of the second season of Gundam Iron-Blooded has not been officially released yet, the various promotional introductions have convinced a large number of fans that there will definitely be a second season. However, the recent successive deaths of the Tekkadan have made people worry about the fate of the protagonists, and they don’t know how many of them will survive in the last episode. In addition, before the 25th episode was broadcast, several staff members involved in the production said that "the part they were responsible for has been completed", which seemed to have a hidden feeling; one of the senior animators even expressed his dissatisfaction.

The staff of Gundam Iron-Blooded expressed their feelings after the work was finished on Twitter:

Da Zhang Zhengji: I originally wanted to participate in the original painting work

Masami Obari, who was in charge of mechanical animation supervision and storyboard work: It's over... In the end, I only drew Olga in the storyboard, even though I wanted to participate in the original animation work.

Mutaguchi Yuki: The work is over, thank you for your hard work

Original artist Yuki Mutaguchi: The part I participated in this time was the original painting of the Ein Machine Pile Bunker. My work is finished here. Thank you all for your hard work.

Otani Kyoko: I will take my leave from now on.

Character drawing supervisor Ayuko Otani: Thank you all for watching episode 24. I will take my leave now.

If the above staff members were still reserved, then another person, Ken Otsuka, who also served as the mechanical animation supervisor and storyboard, was completely different. He was not satisfied because he could not get the BD and Shirobako (sample film), and posted his complaints on Twitter.

Otsuka Ken: If you don't give me BDs and samples, I'll quit

Ken Otsuka is a senior veteran in the industry, having served as the mechanical animation supervisor for many animations such as "Mai-HiME", "Gundam 00" and "Symphonic Psalms". For this senior to publicly express his dissatisfaction, it seems that the matter is indeed a bit serious. I hope it will not affect the possible second season...
