CATDOLL: Won the 40th Kodansha Manga Award for manga such as "DAYS" and "Obstetrician Hongdori"

The results of the 40th Kodansha Manga Award have been announced. Tsuyoshi Yasuda's "DAYS" won the Shonen Manga Award, while Zuyunko's "What Should I Do If I'm Too Popular" and Suzuki Yuuki's "Obstetrician and Gynecologist Hinode" won the Girls Manga Award and the General Manga Award respectively.

The judges for this competition are seven cartoonists: Ken Akamatsu of "Magic Teacher", Tochi Ueyama of "Chef Dad", Ogure Takato of "Flywheel Boy", Atsushi Kase of "Chameleon", Miyuki Kobayashi of "Apple Chef", Yuji Moritaka of "Money Goes to the Stadium", and Kazumi Yamashita of "The Life of Genius Professor Yanagisawa". The winners will receive a bronze statue and a bonus of 1 million yen (about 60,000 yuan).

DAYS is a soccer manga serialized in Weekly Shonen Magazine. It tells the story of how the rookie protagonist Emoto Jin, with his fiery soccer spirit, enters the soccer club of the prestigious Seiseki High School and grows up with his friends. The TV anime version will be broadcast in July.

"What Should I Do If I'm Too Popular?" is a girl's manga serialized in "Bessatsu Friends." It tells the story of a fujoshi, Hana Serinuma, whose eyes light up when she sees a boy and whose imagination runs wild. She was originally very fat, but because her favorite two-dimensional character died, she lost her appetite and lost weight in a week. As a result, she attracted the attention of four handsome boys in the school, who fought over her. The work will be adapted into a TV animation, but the broadcast date is not yet known.

As for "Obstetrician and Gynecologist", it is a comic serialized in "Morning". The Japanese drama version, starring Go Ayano, has been well received. It tells the story of an orphan who becomes an obstetrician and gynecologist through hard work and faces the cruel scenes encountered by women during pregnancy and childbirth.
