CATDOLL: Shocked! One Punch Man won the Shanghai Magnolia Award for Best Animation Script

At the Shanghai TV Festival Magnolia Award Ceremony held last night (June 10), the popular Japanese animation "One Punch Man" won the Magnolia Award for Best Animation Script. The award presenters were the famous Chinese dubbing artist Tong Zirong and the famous Serbian screenwriter Bozidar Secevic. The director of "One Punch Man" Shingo Natsume came on stage to receive the award. When evaluating "One Punch Man", the judges said: "The story of "One Punch Man" subverts the traditional model, and the unique form is a great test and challenge for screenwriters."

"One Punch Man" is a humorous fighting manga by Japanese webtoon artist ONE. The work was created using a comic manuscript software called ComicStudio PC. It was serialized on ONE's personal website on July 3, 2009. Although the artwork was crude, it became a big hit on the Japanese Internet. According to the "Internet Comic Revolution" survey broadcast by Japan's NHK on September 2, 2012, "One Punch Man" was viewed more than 10 million times that year, with an average of 20,000 hits per day. It is currently being serialized on ONE's website.

In early 2012, manga artist Yusuke Murata discussed the idea of cooperating with ONE on Twitter to create a "remake". On June 14, 2012, Yusuke Murata created "One Punch Man - Remake" based on the original work, which was serialized in Shueisha's online manga magazine "Young Jump Next Door". After that, the animation of this work was released in October 2015 and received a lot of praise. Fans also look forward to the release of a follow-up animation.
