CATDOLL: Japanese media survey: More than 30% of Japanese students' pocket money is spent on buying comics

Everyone has a few comic books in their childhood, and comic book expenses account for a large proportion of childhood hobby expenses. Many Chinese children have saved money for food and secretly bought comic books. The same is true for Japanese students. A few days ago, a Japanese website released the order of how primary and secondary school students spend their pocket money, and comic book expenses ranked second.

The relevant organization conducted an online survey on the use of pocket money for primary and secondary school students in Japan. About 900 students participated in the questionnaire survey, ranging from the first grade of elementary school to the third grade of junior high school. The survey results showed that among the 900 students, 696 received pocket money regularly or periodically, and 181 of them said that they would plan their pocket money after receiving it. Among the answers about planning the use of pocket money, the first place was to buy some snacks such as desserts and juice, accounting for 59.1%. Buying comics accounted for 34.1% and ranked second.

Even primary and secondary school students are so supportive of the development of Japanese animation, which to a certain extent shows that the animation industry is indeed a pillar industry in Japan.
