CATDOLL: Sad news! RWBY author passed away at the age of 33

Matt of the American independent animation studio Rooster Teeth announced the sad news on Monday: Monty Oum, the creator and director of "RWBY", passed away on Sunday (February 1) at the age of 33.

Our friend, inspiration and colleague Monty Oum passed away yesterday at 4:34pm surrounded by those who loved him. Ten days ago, Monty suffered a severe allergic reaction during a simple medical procedure which left him in a coma. Although he fought bravely, his body was unable to recover. He was well cared for during his time in the hospital and never experienced any pain.

With the help of his wife Sheena, dad Mony, brothers Woody, Sey, Chivy and Neat, sisters Thea and Theary, and of course countless friends and fans, Monty is having the time of his life these days! We are so proud to have been a part of his life and he will be missed terribly.

Your generous donations will help his family with his medical expenses and funeral arrangements as announced on Friday. You are making a difference during this extraordinary time and we cannot thank you enough!

We will remember Monty in our own way. Instead of flowers or gifts, we ask that you simply do something creative. Just use your imagination to make the world a better place. If you knew Monty as well as we do, you know that he would have done this if he had the ability.

Monty died at the age of thirty-three.
