CATDOLL: Japan's famous light novel writer Maki Orange was charged with tax evasion and had written "The Devil and the Brave"

Recently, a Japanese copyright management company "m2ladeJAM" reported that light novel writer Daisuke Umezu (41), who goes by the pen name Maki Orange (橙乃ままれ), was suspected of illegal tax evasion, with the amount of tax evasion being approximately 30 million yen.

According to people familiar with the matter, Daisuke Umezu collected large amounts of copyright fees after the publication and animation of his online serial fantasy novels "Log Horizon" and "Devil King and Hero", but failed to report 120 million yen in copyright fees in the three years ending in March 2014, and is suspected of tax evasion of 30 million yen.

Maki Akino (pen name), real name Daisuke Umezu (41), started publishing online in 2000. In 2010, she made her debut after her serialized novel "Maou Yusha" was discovered on the 2ch discussion board and published. She is the author of the light novels "Maou Yusha" (まおゆう魔王勇者), "Log Horizon" (ログ・ホイズン), and "The Demon Clan" (俺の屍を越えてゆけ)
